The Northwestern Mutual office in Charlotte serves the Carolinas and Northern Georgia. We are headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Charlotte network office has local offices in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Asheville, North Carolina; Greenville, South Carolina; Charleston, South Carolina; Columbia, South Carolina and Augusta, Georgia. Richard Worrell, the current Managing Partner, and Jim Worrell, former Managing Partner, have served the Carolinas for over 50 years of combined experience with Northwestern Mutual.
Northwestern Mutual in Charlotte has enhanced the breadth of our service offerings and expanded geographically to include more than 165 financial representatives. Our network office is one of the largest in the Northwestern Mutual system across the country, and is consistently a top provider of life, disability, long-term care, annuities, and employee benefits solutions.
Because we are growing along with the Carolinas and Georgia, we are selectively looking to attract and develop high quality, motivated individuals who are committed to building an integrated Northwestern Mutual financial security practice and are dedicated to serving their clients. Northwestern Mutual hosted a speaker series with Steve Forbes, chairman and editor in chief of Forbes Media and John Schlifske, Northwestern Mutual chairman and CEO. Forbes and Schlifske discussed their thoughts on the economy, the markets, and how individuals and business owners can ensure financial security in the new normal. The event was part of a three day, seven-city tour and saw over 4,000 attendees in total. The Charlotte event, which took place at The Ritz Carlton, had over 400 in attendance.
Richard Worrell wins Northwestern Mutual's 2011 Community Service Award
Richard Worrell, CLU, CFP is Northwestern Mutual's "Most Exceptional Volunteer" for his dedication to Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia, Inc. The Northwestern Mutual Foundation is awarding a $25,000 grant to the nonprofit in his honor. A Charlotte resident, Worrell is a Northwestern Mutual managing director.
The Northwestern Mutual Foundation is donating $285,000 to 26 nonprofit organizations nationwide through its 17th annual Community Service Award program. The annual competition, open to more than 11,500 Northwestern Mutual financial representatives and interns, recognizes exemplary volunteer involvement and dedication to charitable organizations and philanthropic projects.

Northwestern Mutual-Charlotte Honored with Community Impact Award
Richard Worrell, managing director of the Northwestern Mutual - Charlotte office and his team are the recipients of the 2010 Community Impact Award for their work with Easter Seals United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of North Carolina and Virginia. In recognition of the Charlotte Office's ongoing support, the Northwestern Mutual Foundation is making a $50,000 grant to Easter Seals UCP to create additional opportunities for children and adults with disabilities throughout North Carolina and Virgina.
